General description: Secondary School of Agriculture and Forestry Vinkovci educates 495 students aged 15 – 19 in 3 and 4 year long educational programmes in 28 classes. Educational programmes/professions it educates are agrotechnician, agriculture technician phytopharmacist, forestry technician, florist, farmer, baker, butcher, agriculture machinery mechanic, and also students with development disabilities (in programmes gardner and butcher). There are 82 employees, 52 of which are teaching staff. The school was nominated Regional Centre of Competence in 2018 and has also been an eco – school since 2007. It has its own land (52 ha), demonstration garden (1/2 ha) for horticulture, production of flowers, vegetables, fruits and forestry, and also an orchard (2,5 ha). There is also a mechanic workshop for maintenance of the school’s machinery and practical training. Theoretical part is performed in the classrooms and practical training in practicums, school demonstration garden, polygon and with contracted partners and employers. Students work in students’ cooperative “Agro” vwhere they produce, pack and sell apple crisps, apple vinegar, aronia tea etc. The school also has a programme for adult education.
Purpose of the entity: to provide conditions for acquiring secondary education through practical experience and direct transfer of knowledge and skills in the field of agriculture, food and forestry for students and adults
Main activities: education based on modern innovative programmes, harmonized with the requirements of the labor market, through regular secondary education, lifelong education of adults and people with development disabilities.
Activities related to internationalisation: Currently Erasmus+ KA102 project AgroEurope; recently approved KA101 project Stepping Stone to a Modern School, and a pending KA2 project, waiting for approval (as partners).
Motivation for attending the TCA: Gaining more theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise on creating internationalisation strategy of the organisation and its implementation in order to cover more channels and participants. The main goal is to provide the students with the opportunity to gain 21st century skills in order to be more competitive on the labour market and to apply skills and experiences gained abroad in their own work. Another goal is to give teachers the opportunity to attend professional trainings and job shadowing abroad and transfer the best practices and modern technology to our institution.
